Applied Flavorist

FOOM Lab Global is Indonesian-based consumer product startup with mission to aid adult smokers move away from combustible smoking and encourage people to shift to safer way of consuming nicotine. We are determined to provide the best quality e-cigarette product with unique and hyper-localized flavors. Our main differentiators against competitors are our competitive price point; our refillable pods; and our e-liquid that is produced in-house and locally.

We are looking for an Applied Flavorist to join our team and work with our product development department to create and improve the flavors for our vaping products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flavor chemistry, specific knowledge of vaping flavorings, and the ability to create complex flavor profiles that meet our product specifications and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and test new flavor combinations and modify existing flavors to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
2. Conduct research on the latest trends and innovations in the vaping industry and apply this knowledge to product development.
3. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that flavor development aligns with product specifications and customer preferences.
4. Analyze and evaluate the sensory properties of sample flavors and use this data to adjust formulas and optimize the final product.
5. Manage and maintain accurate records of flavor development and production, including ingredient lists and flavor profiles.
6. Monitor industry regulations and requirements related to flavoring additives and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, or Hospitality.
2. 2+ years of experience in flavor development and formulation, preferably in food and beverage products. We also welcome candidates with Bartender experience.
3. Strong knowledge of flavor chemistry and the properties of flavoring additives used in vaping products.
4. Excellent sensory evaluation skills, with the ability to accurately identify and describe flavors and aromas.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and optimize product performance.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Willingness to work in Cikupa, Banten.
