Job Description
The CATEGORY MANAGER for Home Appliances is responsible for leading and driving the GMV and Order growth for all its underlying subcategories (Small and Large Appliances, TVs and Videos). He / She is also responsible for incubating and growing the top priority sellers within these categories and implementing Lazada’s monetization efforts through our various programs (e.g. Lazada Sponsored Solutions). Beyond the day-to-day responsibility of leading the commercial team’s execution, the Category Manager will also be responsible for co-creating the strategies for the Home Appliance subcategories together with the Category Leader. This role reports directly to the Category leader.
Responsibilities
• Co-developing the quarterly GMV and Order targets for the HA categories and the supporting operational plan to achieve these targets
• Overseeing the day-to-day operational execution of the HA Key Account team and refining the team’s approach (where necessary)
• Developing the strategy for all HA categories together with the Category Leader
• Managing and growing the business of top priority HA sellers via elimination of seller pain points, Joint Business Planning and execution
• Driving the category fundamentals (e.g. assortment completeness, price competitiveness), platform programs, and marketing strategies with sellers
• Interacting with the various functional teams to ensure the implementation of category strategies and special projects
• Managing and developing a team of Key Account Managers
Job Requirements
In order to succeed in the role, you should ideally have:
• At least 5 years’ experience in the Consumer Electronics / Appliances industry in a sales function
• Proven commercial leader that has managed a sales team
• Deep understanding and expertise on Home Appliance brands and Shopper trends
• Experienced in sales planning and breaking targets down into actionable initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cross-functional projects and deadlines at once
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; professionally fluent in English
• Good quantitative skills and Excel proficiency (e.g. pivot tables, lookups and basic data transformation)
• Entrepreneurial and creative mindset with well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills
• Passionate to learn about E-commerce and the business model
