Host (IDN Times)

Job Description:

1. Meet with the video director, video producer, reporters, and other news anchors to be briefed on the day’s news/shoot
2. Collaborate with the video director/producer to choose stories to broadcast considering audience preferences
3. Organize the news/issues to present the most interesting pieces first
4. Revise scripts and prepare to deliver them on-air
5. Ensure late-breaking news/issues are added to newscasts
6. Engage in Commentary
7. Interview guests and other members involved in particular stories
8. Introduce news correspondents reporting on the scene and ask them relevant questions
9. Comply with the moral code of the journalistic profession

Job Requirement:

1. Proven work experience as a host, MC, or news anchor
2. Understanding of the newscast process
3. Broad knowledge of local, national, and international affairs (e.g. political, economic, legislative, entertainment, cultural, and current events)
4. Comfortable yet professional presence on camera
5. Ability to improvise in a live on-camera setting
6. Excellent verbal skills
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
8. Available to work on a flexible schedule
9. Ability to work under stressful conditions and strict deadlines
10. Basic degree in journalism, communications, or a relevant field
