Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:

Ecocrete is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the costs and financial aspects of our construction projects. They will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and other expenses, in accordance with project specifications and drawings.

- Assess and analyze project drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to the project team.

- Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive prices for construction materials and services, ensuring that quality is not compromised.

- Monitor and manage project budgets throughout the construction process, keeping stakeholders informed of any significant deviations and proposing corrective measures.

- Conduct regular quantity take-offs and measurements to verify work completed and quantities used, ensuring compliance with contract agreements.

- Prepare and present financial progress reports, including cost forecasting and cash flow projections, to the project management team and clients.

- Evaluate variations, change orders, and additional work requests, and assess their impact on project costs and timelines.

- Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that cost control measures are effectively implemented and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.

- Assist in the preparation and submission of claims and disputes, providing supporting documentation and cost analysis.

- Maintain a comprehensive database of cost information, project documentation, and historical data for reference in future projects.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects, demonstrating a solid understanding of construction practices, materials, and costs.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate cost estimates and budget management.

- Proficiency in using industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors.

- Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting deadlines.

- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant regulations.

- Strong understanding of cost management principles and value engineering techniques.
