SUMMARY 

Ensure the procurement of goods and services and to maintain the storerooms, and walk-ins in the Culinary Department.

Essential Functions:

  • Review departmental requisitions on a daily basis and organize for expedient fulfillment and delivery.
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. 
  • Manage deliveries, receipt of goods and storage of items to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain computerized records of items or services purchased, costs, delivery, and product quality and product performance.
  • Establish and enforce strict internal controls and continuously monitor and track inventories.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Follow processes or approval of invoices for payment.
  • Work with Executive Chef to complete additional task as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully the person has strong computer skills with know. Must have exceptional people skills and ability to effectively connect with diverse groups and individuals. This person must also be extremely detail oriented with a passion for teaching others.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Would prefer, but not required, prior purchasing experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment. Prior retail warehousing experience is also recommended. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
