As an Associate Purchasing Analyst at SPM Oil and Gas, you will process requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.
As the Associate Purchasing Analyst, you will:
- Developing improvement plans to support buyers & professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.
- Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
- Before new Purchase Oder (PO) is placed, review unallocated inventory for items that may be feasible for substitution and/or repurposing.
- Refer all inventory items that may be feasible for substitution and/or repurposing to engineering by means of Engineering Change (EC) Request
- Coordinate the EC for substitution and/or repurposing to run in parallel with the request for quotation (RFQ) for the original item so as not to lose time waiting on the outcome of the EC.
- Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities and other issues.
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
- Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
- Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier engagement, negotiations, and contracts award process.
The successful candidate must bring :
- University Degree with minimum 1 year experience in Supply Chain or other similar role.
- Familiar with ERP (Syteline) system.
- Good communication in English.
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Have a basic understanding of certain areas (i.e. finance, accounting, tax, and legal).
Top candidates will also bring:
- Capability to do industry benchmarking and market intelligence reports independently.
- Experience in conducting the 7 steps of strategic sourcing process.
- Passionate in cost efficiency without compromising lead time and quality requirements.
- Ability to understand and/or converse in Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus for the purpose of liaising with suppliers from China.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
- This job requires 10-20% of travelling within Indonesia and overseas.

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.
Domestic relocation is not available for this position.
