Automation Engineer / Manufacturing Design Engineer

We are looking for a highly technical engineer with manufacturing/industrialization experience to join our team to support jig/fixture and automation for the production line(s) in Batam. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background with a solid understanding of small assembly automation. We expect you to bring your prior expertise to share with junior engineers to allow the project teams to depend heavily on your designs.

Tasks and responsibilities 

• Responsible for providing a concept, a complete machine design or a design upgrade with detailed part drawings.
• Work independently to create new designs and improve existing ones.
• Present technical design reviews and project management overviews with minimal assistance.
• Create BOM of standard & fabrication parts.
• Organize and maintain existing design documentation.
• Construct prototypes and confirm designs with the design/assembly team.
• Liaise with the purchasing for procurement of standard parts and spare parts.
• Work closely with Electrical engineers to apply appropriate control technology to the mechanical automation design.

The successful Applicant  

Highly proficient in SolidWorks (3D), AutoCAD (2D), Microsoft Office

Thorough knowledge of mechanical drive, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and popular manufacturers.

Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.

Strong personality, leadership, decision making and ability to manage the team diversity.

Basic understanding of Conventional machining & CNC machines.

Advanced Knowledge in automation design & tool making.

Knowledge of process control instruments like temperature controller and reading.
