Job Description

The Procurement Team in Maersk Asia Pacific (APA) is looking for a Logistics and Service Procurement Team Manager responsible for variable spend in Indonesia.
We are looking for a Procurement Manager responsible for Logistics and Services (LnS) Procurement covering Transportation (Trucking, Barge, Rail), CHB, Contract Logistics (seld-managed and outsourced Warehousing and Distribution, Cold Chain Storage Sites and CF) and other value-added services, including contract and supplier relationship management activities for our business in Indonesia.
The role will be positioned in Jakarta Indonesia, and report to the Area Head of Procurement Indonesia & Philippines.
Experience in supply chain management, logistics or shipping operations and procurement is a necessity when applying, and this combined with awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process. It is necessary to possess experience in project management and it is expected that the candidate in previous roles have acted as project leader for cross-functional projects.
The individual we are looking for must have strong communication skills, interpersonal skills through which he or she will engage a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders locally, regionally, and globally across a wide range of departments. The person as an integral part of the Procurement Team will be responsible for driving key procurement projects forward and has the ability to deliver on our ambitious growth plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Manages a team of professionals and various projects across a wide range of procurement areas, within any element of procurement, category, spend area or BU
  • Manage the performance of the team and the individual team members
  • Facilitate the personal and functional development of the team and the individual team members
  • Working as the procurement business partner to the Product and Customer Experience teams in business and product development
  • Overall responsible for optimizing the procurement spend across the Inland transportation, CHB, Contract and Cold Chain Logistics, and other LnS products
  • Performing real estate supplier and market analysis and organizing market intelligence in close coordination with Maersk’s Corporate Real Estate Management team and their local Real Estate consultants
  • Develop category strategy in alignment with Area Business Plans
  • Overall responsible for independently executing end-to-end sourcing projects for all LnS categories (mainly Inland transportation, CHB, Depots, CFS, VAS, Contract Logistics OPEX and CAPEX – Warehousing and Distribution, Cold Chain storage and logistics) that reduce cost, increase profitability, drive innovation and/or enhance Procurement efficiency
  • Owning the cost agenda and performing your responsibilities using our global procurement processes and tools, and assume responsibility of the controls posture of the Procurement processes in the site(s) you support
  • Leading negotiations and coordinating service level agreements between Maersk and its suppliers
  • Integrating Contract Management frameworks to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance
  • Driving supplier relationship and performance management on tactical level
  • Managing internal & external stakeholders efficiently
  • Performing supplier market analysis and organising market intelligence and driving insights from this to procurement and business functions
  • Cooperating closely with colleagues within the Area, Region and Global functions with a business partner mindset
  • Some travel within the country is to be expected

We are looking for

A solution-oriented person as well as resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under minimal supervision, who has:
  • At least 4-5 years of relevant experience within Procurement
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant track record in Supply Chain Management, Inland Transportation, and Contract Logistics (warehousing and cold chain storage site) procurement
  • A good understanding of processes within purchasing and contracting and also experience in implementing them
  • Accomplished project management skills to drive sourcing projects
  • Track record of leading a team of Procurement professionals
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced and often ambiguous environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and competent analytical skills
  • A Degree in a Business/Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Languages: English and Indonesian mandatory
