Role description:
This position reports directly to the Head of Drivetrain System under the Engineering team department. This role is mainly responsible for interpreting high-level vehicle performance requirements as a basis to develop required Battery Packs, conducting battery system level thermal analysis and battery module/pack level power performance simulations, also creating and maintaining engineering documentation.
Expected activity, deliverables, accountability:
- Complete product design responsibility – from concept through production launch and ramp
- Conduct system-level thermal analysis using proprietary software to determine battery cooling concepts and size components for a battery thermal management system
- Build CFD models for battery module and pack-level thermal fluid analysis.
- Perform Battery Pack performance, thermal, and life analysis under given driving cycles and ambient conditions to guide pack sizing, performance compliance, and pack thermal management system design.
- Optimize designs via analytical, numerical, and empirical assessments
Candidate Criteria:
- 5+ years of experience and expertise in Automotive and/or EV industry (Yamaha, Honda, Tesla, BMW Motorrad, Triumph, Ducati, Damon, Zero, Moto GP, and F1)
- Working experience designing high voltage electrical systems
- Working knowledge of safety principles, best-practices, and functional safety
- Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable with uncertainty, problem-solver, good at identifying opportunities
- A person of integrity; honest and has strong moral principles.
- Can-do attitude.
