Biofuels - Junior Trader / Assistant Trader

Biofront Commodities is one of the largest direct collets of waste-based feedstocks including Used Cooking Oil and Palm Oil Mill Effluent. We operate across 6 countries and 25+ collection points and have traded well over $150m of bio-products since inception.

Job Summary

We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial individual with a good foundation in the physical commodities space. You will be working with the trading head to provide commercial support in procurement and administration. You will liaise between our ground teams in Sumatra and our trading, operations, finance and sustainability teams in Jakarta and Singapore.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in physical commodity trading and biofuels/sustainability to grow quickly within an extremely fast-paced and fast-growing biofuel company.

This is a performance driven role with an attractive bonus system for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Origination: Identify suitable and long-term supply partners that can reliably deliver volumes to our storage tanks
• Business Development: Grow and develop our supply positions; leveraging our current assets, expertise and partnerships.
• Execution: Ensure cargo readiness and quality ahead of vessel arrival and lifting.
• Coordination: Manage all administrative and operational processes between the ground teams and head office teams (including finance, operations and sustainability)
• Reporting: Manage all commercial and financial reporting requirements for head office, ensuring accuracy and punctual update.
• Sustainability: Support our sustainability team along with our suppliers in meeting global sustainability standards
• Relationship Management: Ensure current book of suppliers are well supported by the company and where relevant, drive investment and capital support programmes.

Qualifications

• CRITICAL: 3+ years experience at a global commodities firm
• Bachelor's degree or above in related field
• Good understanding of the physical commodities trade life-cycle
• Familiarity with the waste-based feedstock industry, its market and the core players
• Tenacious approach to problem solving
• Exceptional and articulate communication skills
• Excellent general understanding of a business and its functions as you will be wholly responsible.
• Fluent English
• Some travel required
• Skilled with MS Office suite
