Job Introduction

Serco are a trusted provider of services to National Space Agencies and the European Space Agency (ESA), we have over 40 years’ experience supporting the space sector and providing services for all stages of our customer’s space missions.

We are looking for a dynamic Communication and Events Administrative to join our team at the esteemed ECSAT site in Harwell, UK. Step into a remarkable role that grants you access to one of the globe's highly coveted space agencies – an opportunity that launches your career into orbit!

This position offers a support period starting from 01/03/2024 to 31/08/2025.

Role Responsibility

As Communication and Events Administrator you will concentrate your activities on the following:

  • Collaborate with the senior management and the Head of Establishment to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages interaction, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among community members and addresses employee concerns which contributes to a dynamic and agile work environment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of employee events, including team-building activities, networking events, workshops, training sessions, social gatherings, sports and recreation activities to encourage a positive and inclusive ECSAT corporate culture in close collaboration with Facility Management for both an on and offline community.
  • Support facilitating effective Communication and information dissemination among employees, fostering a sense of engagement, alignment with company goals and values, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Support promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
  • Support developing and implementing strategies to create an inclusive workplace.
  • Support strengthening the relationship with Harwell Campus by fostering social interactions and activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to implement
  • innovative strategies.

Successful Candidate

Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:

  • Completed secondary education and professional training in administrative and/or clerical support.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Interest and good understanding of ESA and TIA Programmes and related activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities.
  • Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and establish good working relations with relevant actors in ESA and Industry.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
