Job Description

Get to know the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist (Analytics), someone who has an ability to analyze large structured & unstructured data and generate insights to make key marketing & growth decisions. This person will have the ability to thrive in ambiguity, should have proven experience in analytics and in managing multiple stakeholders, and has a passion to develop a sustainable future.

You will be responsible for all matters related to data ETL, creation of dashboards and development of data driven insights. The team works closely with various teams in Grab - Business, Operations, Marketing but also Engineering, Product and other Data teams, to understand data requirements, identify and track key metrics, and provide data-driven solutions that are tailored and relevant to always-evolving innovation in our markets.

The Day-to-Day Activities

  • Be involved into the business to understand all aspects of our marketplace and marketing in countries
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and provide insights based on business needs
  • Develop data-driven solutions such as reports, toolkits, dashboards, segmentations, models and analytical frameworks to help further stakeholders decisions
  • Support a broad range of projects related to automation, scalable measurement and Analytics efficiency
  • Shape the development of our data infrastructure including data warehousing, optimisation and maintenance of our analytics platforms
  • Provide support and training to stakeholder teams on analytical insights, tools and methodologies

Qualifications

The Must-Haves

  • At least 2 years of analytical experience conjugated with business acumen, preferably in the e-commerce, the Internet industry, or consulting. 
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative subjects
  • Ability to work with large and complex data sets including collect, organize & analyze large datasets with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical tools such as database querying (SQL, Presto, Hive), visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, PowerBI) and programming languages (Python, R)
  • Fast-learner, versatile, self-driven, detail-oriented and collaborative
  • Excellent communication skills to translate analytics specificities for all audiences
  • High ownership and driven to learn new skills and deliver results
  • Full professional working proficiency in English [and in Local Language] is required
