Devops Engineer, Remote

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the Cypher Learning family. You’ll be responsible for deploying software product updates, monitoring production environments, provisioning new cloud services, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs.

What You’ll Do:

As our DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, working on critical tasks that keep our platform at the peak of its performance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Rolling out software updates and patches with precision, ensuring our users enjoy uninterrupted access to our learning platform.

Offering advanced technical support (Level 2/3), acting as a problem-solver for complex issues that arise.

Crafting tools and solutions to minimize errors and elevate the user experience, directly impacting our customer satisfaction.

Developing software integrations for our backend systems, enhancing the functionality and reach of our platform.

Conducting thorough root cause analysis for production errors, ensuring lessons are learned and future issues are mitigated.

Resolving technical hurdles, ensuring our platform remains accessible, secure, and fast.

Automating processes for visual data representation, making information more accessible and understandable.

Designing and implementing system maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring the longevity and reliability of our services.

Vigilantly monitoring our production environment, creating alerts, and dashboards for real-time awareness of our platform's status.

Your Skills & Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, related fields (or equivalent experience)
• Fluent command of English (mandatory)
• 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
• 2 years of experience with AWS/Azure
• Experience with cloud virtual machines, blob / S3, Search, App Gateway and Load Balancers, CDNs, Traffic Manager / Front Door, Key Vault
• Experience with Azure DevOps or an equivalent system
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• Experience with Terraform (1 year)
• Experience with Apache, MySQL, and Redis
• Strong knowledge of networking, DNS, and security best-practices
• Strong Linux knowledge and experience
• Basic experience with programming languages like Ruby or Python
• Experience with Bash or PowerShell

Nice to Have:

• Experience with New Relic and/or Data Dog Observability monitoring tools
• Experience with Phusion Passenger
• Experience with Performance Testing (JMeter)
• Software Engineering and Customer Experience
• Experience in developing applications for large corporations
• Experience in Cybersecurity
