Job Description

DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities and Means:

The Duty Manager is responsible and accountable, under the direction of the Front Office Manager for the efficient overall day to day operations of the hotel whilst on duty. They are to maintain the highest standard of guest service and satisfaction. The Duty Manager is responsible for engendering team spirit and motivation in all staff. They must also be fair and just in any staff disciplinary action required. is also expected to be a “hands on” Manager. By this we expect that they be prepared to lend “hand on” assistance if a hotel area/department becomes very busy. It must be emphasized that this “hand on” assistance must be approached with the “hotel as a whole” in mind and must not be detrimental to the efficient operations of the other areas.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To be in charge as Night Manager rotating with the Assistant Front Office Manager according to schedule.
  • To oversee the Front Desk, ensuring all services are provided according to standards required.
  • To assist subordinates during peak hours.
  • To report for duty 15 minutes before work hours wearing the correct uniforms and name tag at all times.

  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all time.

  • To ensure that all employees provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • To maintain good working relationship as with your own colleagues, and all other departments.
  • To assist Front Office Manager / Assistant Manager evaluate staff performance yearly.
  • To ensure that any and all required reports and correspondence are completed punctually and accurately.
  • To ensure that the Department's Operational Budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled.
  • To check and ensure follow-up on issues mentioned in the log book.
  • To assign duties and responsibilities to employees under his/her supervision. And assist Front Desk Personnel with their duties
  • To conduct daily briefing at the beginning of the shift and do a shift hand over to the incoming Guest Service Officer of the next shift.
Work Experience
  1. Discipline, good attitude, and self motivated in a dynamic environment
  2. Able to work in a team and good communication skill
  3. Fluent in English both written and verbally
  4. Must have experience in the same position at least 2 years in the same position
  5. Hotel School graduates or Higher Diploma
  6. familiar with FOLS and Rhapsody system
  7. Focus on service with an eye for details and an approchable attitude
  8. Work well under pressure, with the ability to analyze and resolves issues
