About the Role
The Economic Research Analyst will work under the supervision of our experienced and highly supportive Portfolio/Investment Analyst to help drive the commercial and economic data strategy. The role will conduct Economic Research, gathering and analysing data, and producing reports across many regions in the world.
This role has a strong focus on Economic Research and data analysis. To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in Economic Research, a positive teamwork attitude and a strong interest in economic data analytics. We will provide the tools and support to set you up for success.
Main Responsibilities
- Research and review economic indicators and data relevant to the company’s investment opportunities.
- Review economic indicators, sector data, metrics, and other key drivers of economic performance.
- Source and consolidate information from various sources and subject matter experts to deliver value-added economic insights.
- Undertaking qualitative and quantitative analysis, utilising a range of data sources
- Develop capability in new methods of analysing and presenting data
- Report writing and preparation of presentations.
- Providing inputs to proposals for potential projects.
Essential Requirements
- Professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in economics
- At least 2 years of experience in doing Economic Research, data analysis and producing reports.
- Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of economic data across many sectors and regions in the world.
- Experience in producing research and summary reports.
- Advanced numerical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Advance level of competency with Excel.
- High level of attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in the financial services industry highly regarded.
- Knowledge of products and services within the financial services Industry highly regarded.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced and medium enterprise environment highly regarded.
