Electrical Engineer - Data Center Design

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the MEP design team to develop and implement electrical systems for the Data Center, ensuring reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency while adhering to Indonesian regulations and considering Singapore standards as a benchmark.
• Design and oversee the installation of electrical infrastructure, including power distribution systems, backup generators, UPS systems, lighting systems, rooftop solar PV systems, and MV substations, in compliance with SPLN and SNI standards, and considering SS for Data Centers.
• Perform electrical load calculations and analyze power usage effectiveness (PUE) to optimize the energy efficiency of the Data Center, incorporating renewable energy solutions such as rooftop solar.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with local (Indonesian) regulations, SPLN, SNI for electrical systems, and are informed by Singapore’s SS, where applicable, with an added focus on integrating renewable energy sources and MV substation design for enhanced sustainability and efficiency.
• Lead project planning and coordinate closely with consultants, stakeholders, and the design team during the design phase to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems and adherence to project timelines and specifications.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers and architects to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and structural designs, including the incorporation of rooftop solar panels and the design of MV substations.
• Conduct site inspections and oversee the electrical installation process to ensure adherence to design specifications and standards, with particular attention to the integration of renewable energy systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to specify and procure electrical components and systems, including those related to rooftop solar and MV substations, that meet Indonesian regulations and standards.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, ensuring compliance with Indonesian and, as a plus, Singaporean standards, and highlighting the integration of renewable energy systems and MV substation design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional engineering (PE) certification, recognized in Indonesia, is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Data Center or critical facilities design, including familiarity with Indonesian and Singaporean standards.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and energy management in Data Centers, with specific knowledge of Indonesian SNI and SPLN standards, and familiarity with Singapore’s SS and Green Mark scheme as a plus.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP) and analysis tools, with experience in applying Indonesian and Singaporean standards in design.
• Knowledge of building codes, electrical standards (SNI, SPLN), and safety regulations in Indonesia, with an understanding of Singapore’s building and electrical standards as a plus.
• Experience with rooftop solar PV system design and MV substation design in Data Center environments is highly desirable.
• Experience with renewable energy systems and sustainability practices in Data Center environments, particularly within the Indonesian and Singaporean context.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between Indonesian and Singaporean standards and practices.
