Field Engineer (Sampling Officer)

JOB OVERVIEW

PT BMT Asia Indonesia is currently looking for Field Engineer in delivering environmental consulting services for several projects in Balikpapan and develop business market in Balikpapan and surrounding areas. We are looking for dynamic individual who can become key persons in building, marketing and operating a business in Balikpapan. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Coordinate and monitor execution and progress of environmental monitoring & studies works for several projects in Balikpapan;
• As a key person in establishing and monitoring representative office in Balikpapan area and provide report to head office;
• Support the company to develop and expand business market in Balikpapan and surrounding areas;
• Conduct environmental sampling activities (water, air, soil, etc.) in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements;
• Record and document environmental data and sample information accurately;
• Conduct compilation, review & interpretation of sampling data, and prepare sections of reports & forms;
• Perform other field exploration, inspection, testing, and analyses using equipment and instrumentation;
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of sampling equipment to guarantee the accuracy of collected samples;
• Work with client to complete assigned tasks and provide client technical and administrative support;
• Other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry/ Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Engineering, or relevant majors from reputable university;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting environmental sampling especially in environmental consulting or laboratory is preferred;
• Having active PPC (Sampling Officer) is a must;
• Having Driving License A
• Having experience as a marketing in environmental consulting services is a plus;
• Having extensive networking with industry and government agencies in Balikpapan;
• Having good interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skill;
• High-level proficiency in use of Ms. Office and ability to present information in report;
• Willingness to travel up to 70% for field work on average with extended overnight stays;
• Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols;
• Flexible to work outside of business hours, when necessary;
• Able to perform field activities that may require working in unfavourable & extreme conditions and place (forest, offshore, height, etc.);
• Non-smokers and in Fit for Work condition.
