Functional Safety - Automotive

Role description:

This position reports directly to the Head of E/E System Architecture under the R&D department. The team is composed of engineers from many backgrounds and experience levels. This role will work alongside experts with many years of experience, high aptitude recent graduates, and people from every stage. Collaboration, learning, and growth are core to the team’s success. We look for anyone with demonstrated exceptional problem-solving ability in individual and group settings. This role is responsible to act as a central Functional Safety expert across a broad range of our product development, supporting the system architecture engineering team by taking responsibility for the Functional Safety deliverables and further to the connectivity security once necessary.

Expected activity, deliverables, accountability:

• Understand intended functionality of systems in a broad automotive context 
• Generate the necessary Functional Safety documentation for the project following relevant standardization (ISO26262, SNI, etc) , including Item Definition; Fault-tree analysis; Hazard analysis; Functional and Technical safety concepts and requirements; validation plans 
• Consult and advocate best practice through participation in safety risk assessment such as FMEA, Risk analysis and Hazard Identification. 
• Development and application of the current and future requirements for Functional Safety (ISO26262, SNI, etc) 
• Lead Functional Safety reviews as needed both internally with the project team and with cross-engineering department

Candidate Criteria:

• Minimum BSc or BEng in Automotive, Electrical or equivalent Engineering 
• Relevant engineering experience (ideally Systems or Safety Engineering)
• Experience in conducting/leading FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA activities 
• Experience in development of one or more of: automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, ADAS features or
• A person of integrity; honest and has strong moral principles 
• Can-do attitude
