Uraian Tugas

Job Profile

The purpose of this position is:

Provide geotechnical monitoring and analysis to ensure PTFI sustainable safe in all PTFI work area (Surface, Regional and Underground Mines) associated with geotechnical risk mitigation include UG Mines Production, UG Mines facilities, Surface infrastructure damage prevention and Regional Mine Supply Road safely and effectively.

The key duties and responsibility of this position are:

  1. Maintain and improve section safety performance by enforcing and following company standards to meet PT Freeport Indonesia safety and Environmental programs standards to meet PT Freeport Indonesia safety and Environmental programs.
  1. Analyze seismic monitoring data to indicate ground response and seismic related hazards to ensure the safety of underground facilities, access, and production areas.
  2. Update database system for geotechnical data/information and reports/recommendation so the database is accessible and preservable.
  3. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly report for reviewing from senior engineers/Superintendent.
  4. Develop his skills and knowledge to go along with new technology and methods to improve the service to clients and cope with new project and case study in block cave mining.
  5. Intense coordination with Organization Leader/direct supervisor for client requirement.
  6. Review seiswatch parameter related DMLZ mining activity and trigger rate activity GBC-Pit Interaction (include seismic distribution).
  7. Provide DOZ-DMLZ & GBC seismic update notification for blasting and update status of seismic protocol, update GBC seismic event rate at Middle access concern area.
  8. Review Firefly lighting system for DMLZ and GBC production area.
  9. Review seismic condition outside & inside cave lines or caving DMLZ and database seismic closure and hydrofract closure time, the performance of the seismic activity rate tracker.
  10. Review the exclusion zone & exclusion times into working places after production blasts.
  11. Re-assess the required configuration, the sensitivity, the location accuracy of seismic network & the suitability of currently employed sensors.
  12. Review Seismic Moment Tensor Inversion (SMTI) - analysis for Mw>0.5, PPV analysis related mining (blasting) impact to facilities accommodation.
  13. Review monitoring system function and availability monitoring devices per area concern (Main Road, Mill, Townsite).
  14. Monitor & analyze trend of deformation of radar (SSR & IBIS) at Operation Support area (Amole, West Gully & MLA area), GPS Orion at Main Road, Townsite, & Operation Support area (Mill, GBT, Magazine, Orica), rock fence sensor (Panorama), extensometer (Tomawin 484) & Tilt beams sensor (MP73 Tower 280), conducting pre-checklist data.
  15. Monitor & analyze trend of deformation of GMS at Main Road & Townsite area (MP 73.5 & Ex-Sion) and conducting pre-checklist GMS.
  16. Review system troubleshoot related to monitoring device connection, software upgrade and license (SSR Radar, IBIS Radar, GMS & GPS).
  17. Monitor & analyze TARP of rainfall station for road access closure (MLA Portal & Conveyor 71), TARP at Uteki river & Magazine - Orica area, & emergency townsite river inspection.
  18. Monitor & analyze FLIR (River monitoring) and CCTV (Amole & ASB area).
  19. Update & analyze trend of deformation of 3D vector deformation GPS data,
  20. Evaluate alarm & any issue on radar data, review system health check & availability monitoring devices for all Grasberg monitoring system, review system troubleshoot related to monitoring device connection, software upgrade and license (SSR Radar, IBIS Radar, Extensometer, Prism & GPS), and review all inventory of monitoring device (Radar, RTS and Prism) - in the case for replacement or calibration.
  21. Review daily monitoring Grasberg - Wanagon area and apply TARP on Grasberg concern area (which associated to geotechnical hazard, rainfall and Grasberg-GBC Interaction).
  22. Undertake collaboration on data analysis & interpretation with Geotech Surface related to safely mining at WWSS-Wanagon and Grasberg Pit-GBC Interaction (Yapen & PB9E).
  23. Inform Grasberg concern area and recommendation from monitoring data to Grasberg Geotech.
  24. Review radar position & ensure fully coverage at Grasberg - Wanagon, especially active mining area (WWSS-Wanagon & GRS-GBC Subsidence and analyze prism data re-measurement & manual measurement at Peak 3 & Lower Wanagon area from Grasberg Geotech.

The key challenges in this position include

  • Large coverage area and complex geotechnical hazard of the UG Mines, Regional Highland-Lowland, and Surface geotechnical issue.
  • Coordinate in effective way to communicate with various type of PTFI Stakeholders/Divisions.
  • Discover the most effective way in influencing or convincing others to follow and implement the recommendation.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are

  • S1 or S2 degree in Geology or Mining or Geotechnical or Civil or Geophysics engineering Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Characters) with 2-3 years experience on geotechnical/mining.
  • Have knowledge of basic theory of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering from university course work.
  • Be able to communicate & coordinate with lead subordinates, multiculture teamwork and must be energetic.
  • English for both oral and written.
  • Computer, such as VULCAN, AUTOCAD, and Mining Software (Deswik, Voxler, GIS, etc.).

  • Good understanding in practical mining engineering and geotechnical engineering software.

The key areas in which you have decision-making responsibility are:

  • Authorize to monitor and analyze the stability of an area and provide recommendation based on geotechnical analysis with review by the supervisor prior to Geotech, UG Operation and Engineering preventive action for risk hazard assessment management.
  • Approve project specification in practical geotechnical or modeling software.
  • Approve project specification for mining-geotechnical field instrumentation tools.

Financial

  • Manage regular geotechnical inspection and monitoring instruments along UG Mines and Surface-Regional area with value up to US $100,000 (annually).

Non-financial

  • Coverage all areas of PTFI Mining and Non-mining area
  • Report directly to geotechnical superintendent
