Head Engineer

Responsibilities/ Job Description

A Head Engineer is fully responsible for theoperation of the engine room and maintenance of the engines in the Hotelincluding generator, hydrant pump.

The Head Engineer must ensure that the engine roomis well maintained, and it is the Head Engineer’s responsibility if there areunsatisfactory results during inspections.

Establish Engineering Department policies,procedures and administrative standards.

Coordinate the activities of the EngineeringDepartment unit with other units or organisations.

Prepare and finalise Engineering Department actionplans

Preparing annual budgets; Scheduling expenditures;Analysing variances; Initiating corrective actions.

Plan projects by determining specifications;Selecting contractors; Establishing installation schedules; Updating costestimates.

Implement preventive and ongoing maintenance of engineeringitems.

Communicates work expectations; Plans, monitors,assesses, and reviews work contributions; Plans and reviews compensationactions; Enforces policies and procedures.

Supervising and leading the engineeringdepartment, including technicians and maintenance staff.

Overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance,from routine repairs to major renovations.

Managing the department's budget and identifyingcost-effective solutions.

 Implementing safety procedures and ensuringcompliance with regulations.

 Coordinating with external vendors andcontractors.

Monitoring and optimizing energy usage andsustainability efforts.

Responding to emergencies and guest complaintspromptly and efficiently.

Requirements

Vocational/ Bachelor's degree majoring in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineeringis preferred.

Min.4-5 years in the same position, or at least 4-5 years in Engineering Manager Positionin Engineering

Experiencein hotel operations and knowledge of mechanical systems, processes andprocedures.

Experiencein leading and creating and maintaining budgets.

Abilityto anticipate customer needs, be prompt and have the ability to multitask.

Ableto operate computer programmes (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

Proven workreliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.
