Job Description

The opportunity


The Head of Wealth Propositions will design, develop, and maintain a competitive and sustainable portfolio of product propositions, that meets the needs of our customers, distribution partners, and shareholders.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor and refine long term product strategies for key product portfolios that will distinguish Manulife’s product offerings in the marketplace 
  • Conduct research and analysis including customer research, trend forecast and competitive positioning
  • Analyze the market to develop to identify opportunities and recommend sound product strategies to support the launch of key products, features and services
  • Participate in capabilities presentations, distribution roadshows and industry events 
  • Mentor or manage junior members of the team
  • Acts as the voice of the customer in the definition of product; incorporates feedback from customer interviews and user research
  • Leveraging in depth customer research and competitive intelligence, create holistic customer propositions that are differentiated from the market, address real customer needs, and meet KPI targets for APE, NBV and CSM
  • Develop and continuously update the product roadmap and strategy, including market positioning, product vision, and consumer value proposition
  • Collaborate dynamically with Bancassurance and Agency distribution teams on new product ideation, aligning priorities for the next 12-18 months to achieve strategic outcomes, and reaching consensus on key product and pricing decisions. This includes collecting and addressing inputs from agent focus groups and obtaining approval from bank partners when necessary. 
  • Supported by Proposition Delivery team, ensure that execution of proposition initiatives is completed timely, with quality, and will achieve the expected results.
  • Oversee go-to-market activities to ensure new propositions are well understood by agents / insurance specialists and they are enabled with effective sales tools and materials. 
  • Monitor, analyze and report actual experience post-launch against targeted sales, distribution and customer acceptance, competitive landscape and pricing assumptions.
  • Ensure active engagement with Delivery and Pricing teams to assess feasibility during early design phase of new proposition initiatives, and secure strong alignment with other functions (Finance, Risk, Operations, IT, etc) on desired outcomes of initiatives.

What we are looking for

  • • Undergraduate degree in finance, marketing, business, or related field 
    • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in product management, marketing, distribution or actuarial functions, with reasonable number of years in management position
