IP communications specialist (21731)
Principal Directorate Communication is responsible for all of the EPO's corporate communication, including strategic events, as well as for developing and protecting its corporate culture, reputation and inspiring corporate brand. Its work has a positive impact by supporting the delivery of the EPO's strategic goals across multiple channels and to a variety of stakeholders.
Principal Directorate Communication, led by a principal director, comprises two directorates: Content Creation and Channel Management. We are now looking for a highly skilled IP communications specialist who will report directly to the Principal Director Communication.
With us you will:
- advise the Principal Director Communication and executive management on all IP-related communication matters to strengthen the EPO’s standing and reputation as a key player in the global IP network
- support the executive team, and particularly site managers, in their roles by assisting with talks and presentations to local authorities
- plan and develop executive communications to help build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders
Apply if you have:
- a proven track record of working in a similar role at an international level, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the IP landscape
- proven experience of building networks both within the IP community and beyond
- the skills needed to support and advise teams with targeted communications
- the ability to act as an interface between topic owners and the EPO President on IP-related communications
- the expertise required to diplomatically cover different points of view in communications
- a sharp eye for detail
Our minimum requirements for this post:
- Diploma of completed studies at master's level or, in exceptional cases, equivalent professional experience
- Generally, an excellent knowledge (at least C1) of one official language (English, French and German) and ability to understand the other two; alternatively, excellent knowledge (at least C1) of at least one official language (in such cases, the willingness to learn the missing language(s) and to reach level B2 within a set time frame would be required)
Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation.
