Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in wood to join our team in Surabaya, Indonesia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a particular focus on wood materials. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and safety of our production processes related to wood materials. Proficiency in Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and techniques is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
• Oversee production processes related to wood materials, optimizing efficiency, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Manage relationships with suppliers of wood materials, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining quality standards.
• Source new materials and suppliers to support production needs and drive cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing.
• Implement continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, utilizing CI methodologies and techniques to enhance production processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
• Uphold strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and drive process improvements, leveraging CI knowledge and expertise.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Major in wood engineering is a plus.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal (Mandatory). Proven experience in quality control, production processes, supplier management, sourcing, cost reduction, continuous improvement (CI), and safety, with a strong emphasis on CI knowledge and application.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Already residing in Surabaya, Indonesia, or nearby areas.
