What You'll Do
Responsibilities include:

  • Verify and ensure that the Contractor is implementing proper preservation measures for equipment, structures, and facilities.
  • Oversee and enforce adherence to material selection and testing procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure the correct application of protective coatings and corrosion inhibitors to prevent degradation caused by harsh environments, moisture, and chemicals.
  • Expedite preservation activities to guarantee compliance with prescribed methods and standards.
  • Conduct regular surveillances to identify defects, damages, or deviations from the preservation plan.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of preservation activities, including material specifications, application procedures, inspection reports, and any deviations.
  • Provide regular reports to project management on the status of preservation efforts.
  • Assure implementation of appropriate storage and handling procedures for equipment, components, and materials to prevent damage during transit and storage.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and contractors to seamlessly integrate preservation requirements into the overall construction & project process.
  • Identify preservation-related issues and propose corrective actions to address unexpected challenges during construction.
  • Provide guidance and training to construction personnel on proper preservation methods, handling, and maintenance procedures.
  • Evaluate potential risks related to preservation, such as corrosion, degradation, or mechanical damage, and implement preventive measures.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve preservation practices, materials, and methods based on industry advancements and lessons learned from previous projects.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in construction or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of preservation methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
