Role Summary:
- To leverage statistical/geo-statistical and deep/machine learning models for analyzing plant functional traits (Morphology, Physiology, and Phenology), genetics, using remote sensing data (Electrical-Optical) to provide data & analytics driven solutions to various forest management decisions.- To have in-house capacity to compile, integrate & manage all the analytics deployed in the production server along with tuning, upgrading the workflow required time to time.
Responsibilities:
Project execution
- Project development, coordination, execution and product delivery for key customers.
- Close coordination with internal & external customers, incorporating feedback and requisite deliverables
Remote Sensing data analysis
- Explore and keep abreast of all the developments related to UAV, Satellites and LiDAR technologies.
- Model –script compilation, integration with the internal management systems and smooth deployment in the production server as required time to time.
- Provide recommendations for system requirements such as hardware, software for project development & deployment.
- Big data processing automation, maintaining spatial database, developing interactive user interface tools/apps
- Real time database management to optimize queries for both historical & real time data on-premises and in the cloud
- Find end-to-end solutions from developing analytics till the deployment & distribution to the potential customers
- Data collection, proof of concept (POC) and running till the pilot scale with a concrete roadmap for operational transition
Coordination and reporting
Prepare technical reports or presentations on the results of developmental projects. Develop standard operational procedures to guide the operational implementation of remote sensing workflows. Provide suggestions to the Geospatial Data Scientist regarding new ideas that can be developed & implemented. Provide routine reports and operational recommendations to Geospatial Data Scientist regarding project progress and challenges faced. Prepare technical reports or presentations on the results of developmental projects. Develop standard operational procedures to guide the operational implementation of remote sensing workflows.
Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- Preferably, Masters in Geoinformation Science, Forest Engineering or closely related discipline with 1 year of work experience OR Bachelor with minimum 3 Years of experience.
- Modules with forestry applications or geospatial applications are an advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent command on deep/machine learning model development using geo-spatial data through open source tools for spatial data analysis, visualization, and interpretations for effective business decisions.
- Hands-on experience with programming tools such as R, Python, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, VB etc.
- Experience in big data management with demonstrated skills in processing, automation, compilation/integration and deployment in the processing/production server.
- Developing dashboards with interactive widgets/tools, experienced in WebGIS & Hadoop (cloudera/hortonwork) infrastructure & environment with insightful reporting solutions to quantify the model performance and its business impact.
- Able to analyze data acquired from multiple platforms such as UAV, Aircraft & Satellites or ground based platforms, using statistical models with artificial intelligence, deep/machine learning models.
- Knowledge of forestry applications such as Tissue Culture & Silviculture practices is a plus
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Able to relate technical information to all levels of the organization.
- Building cross-functional relationships to collaborate with the business stakeholders and collaborate with internal stakeholders/customers.
- Resourceful and proactive, ability to propose alternate solutions to achieve desired outcomes for the customers time-to-time.
- Experienced with Remote sensing data acquisition methodologies (aerial & satellite platforms) and well familiar with the LiDAR + Optical data structure.
- Knowledge of forestry applications such as Tissue Culture & Silviculture practices is a plus
- Excellent communication (English), interpersonal and presentation skills. Able to relate technical information to all levels of the organization.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
- In-depth knowledge of remote sensing techniques and data structure
- Expert in Computer vision and programming (R, Python, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, VB)
- Artificial Intelligence Deep/Machine Learning Model building, pruning & testing
- Good understanding of IT Infra/Enterprise Architecture, Configuration, deployment strategy
- Compilation & integration of model scripts, open source geospatial applications and database management systems (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Cloudera/Hortonwork data platform)
- Adequate skillsets in automated geospatial data processing, Artificial Intelligence Deep/Machine Learning Model building, pruning & testing
