Patent Specialist (Electrical Engineering)

Januar Jahja and Partners, a leading intellectual property law firm based in Jakarta, Indonesia is currently seeking candidates to join its growing patent department. The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of work experience directly handling patent/design matters.
• Fluency in English communication and excellent writing skills.
• Good analytical, drafting, communication, and research skills.
• Ability to effectively monitor and meet deadlines.
• Detailed oriented.
• Strong time management skills.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• A strong commitment to client service.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all substantive aspects of patent applications related to Electrical Engineering.
• Handle all substantive aspects of industrial design applications related to Electrical Engineering.
• Work with Patent Paralegals to review all notifications received from DJKI.
• Ensure data and deadlines are inputted accurately and in accordance with Client's instruction/data into IP Management System.
• Conduct and advise on patent searches, patent infringement analysis, and freedom-to-operate searches and analysis.
• Prepare and review patent specifications from English to Indonesian.
• Formulate strategies, provide opinions and analytical responses to client and potential client requests for advice.
• Prepare and deliver presentations for associations, conferences, conventions, and individuals, writing articles, and participating in various conferences.
• Perform other tasks related to IP and patent matters, and other administrative tasks as necessary.
