Some of your duties will include:
- Responsible for the overall management, coordination, and performance of our LNG power plant; To ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply to support our mining operations, mineral processing plants, and other facilities; Lead a team of senior leaders, skilled professionals and collaborate with various departments to maintain the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance;
- LNG Power Plant Operations & Strategy:
- Formulate a comprehensive strategy for the LNG power plant, including capacity expansion plans, optimized LNG sourcing, and integration of liquefaction capabilities if applicable.
- Stay abreast of developments in natural gas markets, LNG supply chains, and pricing dynamics to optimize LNG procurement strategies and minimize costs.
- Lead the exploration and implementation of cutting-edge technologies in LNG liquefaction, regasification, and storage processes to improve plant efficiency and flexibility.
- Collaborate with relevant authorities and suppliers to ensure a reliable and consistent supply of LNG, minimizing supply chain risks and disruptions.
- Investigate the potential for LNG as a transport fuel and explore partnerships with the transportation sector to create synergies and foster sustainable energy usage.
- Evaluate opportunities to integrate the LNG power plant with the broader energy infrastructure, such as LNG terminals or virtual pipelines, to enhance energy resilience.
- Performance Optimization
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for energy generation and consumption, regularly monitoring and reporting on performance.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of LNG Power Plant while minimizing environmental impact.
- Implement advanced data analytics and predictive maintenance to optimize energy production and reduce downtime.
- Operational Excellence:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth energy operations, integrating power plant activities seamlessly with mining and processing operations.
- Implement best practices and standardized processes across energy operations to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and creativity within the energy team.
- Capital Investment Planning:
- Collaborate with finance and senior management to develop capital investment plans for upgrading and expanding energy infrastructure.
- Prioritize projects based on strategic importance, financial viability, and alignment with the company's mission.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field. An advanced degree or MBA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in the energy sector, with a strong focus on LNG plant operations, energy management, and strategic leadership;
- Have minimum 5-7 years’ experiences in leadership level as Plant Manager in LNG.
- Proven track record of successfully overseeing and managing complex power plant operations, including both coal and LNG power plants;
- In-depth knowledge of energy market dynamics, emerging trends, and regulatory frameworks related to power generation and distribution.
- Extensive experience in developing and executing long-term energy strategies for large-scale operations, with a demonstrated ability to adapt strategies to changing market conditions.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in developing capital investment plans for energy infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of advanced technologies and digitalization trends in energy operations, including predictive maintenance, data analytics, and smart grid solutions.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, industry partners, energy suppliers, and community representatives.
- Ability to think strategically and anticipate future energy demands, aligning energy goals with the overall corporate strategy.
