Overall Purpose of Position
As a Teacher Assistant at Caterpillar School Bali, you will be responsible for assisting teachers with curriculum planning, supervision, and teaching of children a classroom setting.
2. Responsibilities & Duties
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans.
• Provides support to the main teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
• Provide support to students who have difficulty with communication, interaction, cognition, and learning, as well as other behavioral, emotional, and developmental issues.
• Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the main teacher.
• Assist the main teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities.
• Prepare, maintain and use material/equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist students in their use.
• Verify and track students’ attendance, observe students’performance, contribute to progress reports, and maintain records as required.
• Provide detailed and regular feedback to the main teacher on student achievement, progress, problems etc.
• Promote good student behavior, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behavior.
• Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
• Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
• Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
• Contribute to the extracurricular activities of the school and be involved in school development.
• Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes.
• Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips and out of school activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the main teacher.
• Assist with the supervision of students with another support staff in case the main teacher is absent.
• Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers.
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the school office.
