Job Descriptions:
The Manager of Production Planning and Inventory Control plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence by strategically managing production schedules and inventory levels to meet business objectives. This leadership position involves overseeing the planning and Inventory Control team, collaborating with senior management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of Production Planning strategies to ensure timely manufacturing and delivery of products.
- Oversee inventory management practices to optimize inventory levels, ensure material availability, and minimize carrying costs.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to accurately forecast demand and align production plans.
- Implement best practices in Inventory Control, including setting up an efficient system for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency and inventory management processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Production Planning and Inventory Control team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Prepare and analyze reports on production and inventory metrics, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all Production Planning and Inventory Control activities.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support operational goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production Planning and Inventory Control, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably within the retail industry.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in advanced planning and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
