Responsibilities
Sourcing and Supplier Selection:
- Identify potential suppliers and contractors for construction materials and services.
- Evaluate and compare supplier proposals and quotes.
- Negotiate terms and conditions to secure favourable agreements.
- Draft and review construction contracts.
- Ensure that contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor contract performance and address any issues that may arise.
- Work with project teams to estimate costs associated with procurement.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
- Address supplier performance issues and implement improvement plans.
- Conduct regular vendor assessments and performance reviews.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement processes.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and market conditions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Provide procurement support to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction materials, processes, and industry standards.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
