Senior Drafter

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and drafting, applying standard techniques involving minor innovations of methodology to provide solutions to problems. 
• Participates with other drafters, technicians, and others to contribute to project completion.
• Coordinate work with purchasing staff and suppliers.
• Build and configure multiple manufacturing bill of material variants.
• Coordinate work with design automation programmers.
• User acceptance testing of design automation scripting and applications.
• Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or
2. 5 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with CAD (Catia or similar software)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability and cost efficiency
• Proven experience performing engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components. Solve design problems and check computations.
• Experience in preparing, modifying, and releasing drawings created in CAD to verify fit, form and function of mechanical designs.
• Experience with bill of materials and cost calculations.
• Experience with top-down design method.
• Experience with CAM coding and CNC machinery operations.
