A reputable plantation company is looking to bring on board a Senior Manager (Legal) to lead their legal team in Indonesia. They are one of the fast-growing and professionally run business within the plantation industry. And to prove their commitment in investing in Indonesia for the long-term, they have decided to hire a Senior Legal Manager to lead their legal team.

Description

Reporting to the Global Head of Legal, you will be the most Senior Legal person in the organisation in Indonesia. You will also be overseeing more than 10+ subsidiaries within the group that they own. Other responsibilities include:

• Providing legal advice and guidance to management and various departments within organisation (both in Indonesia and to the global team).
• Analysing laws, regulations and policies that are relevant to the business.
• Ensuring that the business is in compliance with both the local and global direction.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreement and legal documentations.
• Coordinating and managing legal proceedings if required, including litigation and disputes resolution.
• Collaborating with external law firm when necessary.
• If required, providing legal training to employees on relevant legal issues.
• Collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals while considering legal implications.
• Identifying and managing legal risks, and developing strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
• Translating the complicated legal language and convert it into a language that is easily understood by many people

Profile

This role is only opened for Indonesians who can communicate well in Bahasa and English, and has the track record of at least 8 years of working experience. Other requirements:

• University degree from reputable law school (Master from international university will be highly preferred).
• Industry preference: plantation, manufacturing, oil and gas or natural resources-related.
• At least 8-10 years of working experience in mult-national brands or reputable local companies.
• Not a job hopper - at least staying for 2 years in the same company.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skill in both Bahasa and English.
• Hands-on attitude and one with strong leadership skill.
• Good personal skills, strategic thinking and excellent attention to detail is a must.
• Admission to the Indonesian Bar (PERADI) is required.
