Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking dedicated, customer service focused professionals to join the Event Services team as Regular Event Services Server.

The Event Services Server is responsible for the entire set-up, serving and clearing of banquets function rooms, food service of the guests and provides excellent customer service. Candidates must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift a moderate amount of weight. This is a fast-paced position that will involve superior customer service.

Starting wage for this position is $16.75 per hour plus gratuities, after 6 months wage is $17.93 per hour plus gratuities, after 1 year, full wage is $20.49 per hour plus gratuities.

This is a regular position; associates will be scheduled according to business needs.  This position requires availability especially on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Visa Requirements:  Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

QUALIFICIATIONS

• Serving It Right certificate is mandatory
• Food Safe Level 1 certificate is mandatory
• Individuals must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays (early morning, afternoon or evening)
• Previous food and beverage experience is considered an asset
• Must have previous customer service experience
• Must have a good command and understanding of the English language
• Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset
• Must be pleasant, have an outgoing personality and able to communicate and work with a diverse group of individuals and guests
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
• Must have excellent grooming standards and remain professional at all times
• Must demonstrate proven qualities of an excellent team player with leadership skills

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

• Constant standing throughout shift
• Frequent walking throughout the shift
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
