About the team

Our product team is made up of around 10 people, consisting of product managers, full stack engineers, data scientists, QA engineers and designers. We are looking to grow the team significantly in the next few quarters since we have found our stride and extra headcount translates into extra outcomes.

Our engineering team consists of full stack engineers that are versatile, inquisitive, and problem-driven. We fixate on optimisations and bug-fixing only as much as it drives business value. To us, engineering is a means to an end—solving our workers’ and clients’ problems. We trust each other to do our best work, and hence uphold a forgiving but accountable environment where mistakes serve to grow us into better engineers. 

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science team to shape and contribute to the team’s vision, strategic goals, and roadmap
• Lead and guide a team of engineers responsible for developing Workmate’s systems
• Foster trust within and across teams, instilling accountability and cultivating a positive work environment in collaboration with other organizational leaders.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance existing components in our systems. Make sure they are fault-tolerant and scalable while delivering the best possible user experience

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• 1-2 years of experience building complex apps or web applications as an individual contributor and can represent the technical details of work shipped by the team you’ve worked with.
• Proven track record of building, scaling, and shipping high-quality products in dynamic and  high growth environments
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages, including: Typescript/Javascript, React, React Native, Python

• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills in English

While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

• Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team. Track record of motivating, mentoring and growing engineers
• Dedication to software/system quality with an artisan mindset, constantly seeking to refine your craft while maintaining a balance between idealism and pragmatism.
• A passion and unwavering commitment to engineering excellence
• Have excellent technical communication skills
• Hands on experience with core software infrastructure systems and technologies, such as infrastructure as code
