As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will support the resolution of quality issues and processes for the supply function in the manufacturing facility.

Shift: Regular

Work Location: Batam, Kepulauan Riau

Travel Requirement: 25%

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is available for this position.

What You Will Do:

• Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.

• Participates in Supplier Quality improvement initiatives; works with suppliers to develop and improve quality levels.

• Ensures the reliability and quality of suppliers, implementing process controls, certification programs, evaluations, inspections, corrective actions, audits, and records.

• Identified quality problem(s) and determines a short-term action plan with the facility management and the supplier.

What You Have (Required):

• Fluency in English.

• At least 5 (five) years of experience in a similar or relevant role.

• At least a bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Purchasing.

• Good interpersonal communication, analytical, leadership, and project management skills to develop a cooperative working relationship with others both inside and outside of Caterpillar.

Top Candidates Will Also Bring:

• Knowledge of the tools and techniques of 6 Sigma methodology will likely be attained through prior completion of Green Belt training and/or other 6 Sigma experience.

• Knowledge of Quality, Lean manufacturing, and an understanding of Lean principles.

• Capable of using and demonstrating statistical and problem-solving tools.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):

• This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
