Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineering, project team and other departments to ensure all materials and services are procured on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies that align with the shipyards’s business objectives and long-term goals.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with supplier to ensure beneficial agreements and manage contract renewals and extensions.
- Identify, assess, and develop relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor performance to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring they are accurate, compliant with company policies, and reflecting the requirements of various departments within the shipyard.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including environmental and safety regulations.
- Monitor and control procurement costs, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with quality control and assurance terms to ensure that purchased material and equipment meet specified standards and requirements.
- Stay updated with industry trends and market conditions to make informed procurement de decisions and identify potential new suppliers.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by coordinating with the inventory control team, ensuring the availability of materials, and minimizing excess stock.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Purchasing Executive
- 2 ~ 3 years of experience leading a small procurement or supply chain management team, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to create and maintain supplier relationships.
- Preferably proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Office applications and SAP System.
- Knowledge of legal requirements, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement.
- Excellent communications, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Willing to work in Batam.
