Account Payable Accounting Specialist

Duties and responsibilities:

• Review and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness

• Enter invoices into the accounting system and obtain necessary approvals

• Process payments to vendors through various payment methods, such as checks, wire transfers, 

and online payments

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies

• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues related to payments

• Prepare and maintain accounts payable reports and records

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred

• At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related field

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems (Experience with Xero a plus)

Experience:

• Experience with accounts payable processes and procedures

• Experience with the implementation of new Account payable processes

• Experience with accounts payable automation

• Experience with invoice processing and payment methods

• Experience reconciling vendor statements

• Experience responding to vendor inquiries and resolving payment issues

Skills and abilities:

• Ability to be extremely hands-at first as we build the team and systems

Working conditions:
