Role Description
Accounting staff will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with bookkeeping, such as managing financial statements, creating journal entries, and operating accounting software. You will work closely with finance members of the team.
Job Description
1. Recording Financial Transactions
Entering daily transactions such as purchases, sales, receipts and payments into the accounting system or general ledger
2. Receivables Receipt
Create and send invoices, track payments received, follow up on overdue accounts, and balance differences if necessary
3. Bank Reconciliation
Balancing bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies or irregularities
4. Financial Reporting
Assists in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss reports, and cash flow reports. Provide accurate financial reports to management for decision making purposes
5. Cost Monitoring
Monitor and track company costs, including reimbursements, travel costs, and other operational costs. Choose costs that are categorized correctly and accounted for properly
6. General Ledger Management
Maintain the general ledger by entering journal entries, adjusting entries, and balancing accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
7. Tax Preparation Support
Assists in the collection and organization of financial data for tax preparation purposes. Applicable by ensuring tax provisions or external accountants to meet tax provisions and deadlines
8. Compliance and Regulation
Stay updated on accounting principles, regulations and best practices. agree to exposure to relevant accounting standards, laws and regulations
9. Communication and Collaboration
Communicate effectively with superiors, co-workers, and other departments. Collaborate with team members to resolve financial issues and improve processes
10. Confidentiality
Manage sensitive financial information carefully and maintain confidentiality at all times
11. Continuous Improvement
Look for opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and controls. Implement efficiency-enhancing tools and techniques to optimize financial operations
These duties may vary depending on the size and structure of the organization, as well as specific industry requirements. Additionally, bookkeepers may be assigned with additional duties based on business needs.
Qualifications
Proficiency in managing financial statements and journal entries
Proficiency in bookkeeping and accounting software
Strong knowledge of finance
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Attention to detail and accuracy
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
Prior experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role minimum 2 years
