Café Kitsuné is looking for Demi Chef Pastry, who will be in charge at creating pastry menus for Café Kitsune Jakarta, Recreating or producing our own pastry items, handle production aspects of entire pastry station, and organizing pastry station day to day operational, ordering ingredients, and also stock control.
Candidates that would be shortlisted are who has qualification and skills as follows:
Qualifications:
- Have a formal education in Patisserie, Bakery, Culinary arts or relevant field
- Proven experience as Pastry Chef or relevant role (min. 3 years)
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skill
- Good communication skill
Skills:
- Creativity to design new and unique menu items to attract customers
- Knowledge of how baking ingredients work together and how they can be used in creative ways
- Leadership skills to manage the pastry section and staff in the kitchen, including hiring the right staff and motivating workers in a high-stress environment
- Time management skills to deliver orders on schedule and avoiding wasting food
- Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions
- Flexibility, since hours for a Pastry Chef may vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays
Job Details:
- Operating and managing the pastry section of a kitchen (pastry station), working together with other chefs
- Preparing a variety of baked goods
- Decorating and presenting pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
- Monitoring and ordering ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Meeting with costumers to discuss custom-made dessert or baked goods for special occasions
- Ensuring the pastry section of the kitchen (pastry station) adheres to health and safety regulations
- Identifying staffing need, help to recruit new personnel and train them
- Developing new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest tends
