The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible to provide leadership in all selling activities within the hotel, working closely with the Rooms, Food and Beverage and other revenue-generating departments to maximize sales through the activities of the Sales Department and other employees. In addition, to position the hotel in the local marketplace through appropriate Sales and Marketing initiatives and to ensure the hotel product and services align with the positioning and brand promise created through marketing communications.

The Director of Sales and Marketing reports to the General Manager as well as the Cluster Director of Commercial Services.
The Director of Sales and Marketing has direct oversight of the day to day Sales, Event, and Marketing operations of the hotel. Responsibilities include the Sales, Marketing, and Events Budget/P&L, forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing, writing business plans. Additionally, the role is works with the Cluster Director of Commercial Services and is responsible for the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term strategies in all sales, catering, and marketing channels to achieve hotel’s revenue goals and increase market share performance.
The Director of Sales and Marketing leads sales, marketing and event managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff. They manage recruitment and hiring of Sales and event services staff, training, managing, and coaching managers in their selling and servicing process in order to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues. Must be able to train and monitor the group and transient contractual agreement process, quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and the management of retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts.
Communication and organizational skills are of the utmost importance. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
