Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or any relevant field with proven experience in Safety Officer role
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective safety measures.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety will be an advantage.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to mitigate risks and create a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide safety training to employees, including new hires, to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, analyse root causes, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with department heads and employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, making adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, records, and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
