Legal Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Monitor and assess changes in legislation and regulatory requirements impacting the company's operations
- Advise management on legal compliance matters, including licenses, permits, and registrations required for maritime logistics activities
- Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations
Contracts and Agreements:
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to maritime logistics, including charter party agreements, bills of lading, service contracts, and transportation agreements
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with contractual obligations
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and legal obligations
- Advise on the interpretation of contractual provisions and provide recommendations for resolving disputes
Regulatory and Licensing Matters:
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses, permits, and approvals from relevant regulatory bodies.
- Liaise with government authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders on regulatory matters.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, disclosures, and responses to inquiries or investigations.
Legal Advice and Training:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, including senior management, operations teams, and other departments
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance legal awareness and understanding among employees
- Develop and maintain legal resources, templates, and guidelines for the company's use
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university. A Master's degree or specialized course in Maritime Law is a plus
- Admission to the Indonesian Bar Association is a plus
- Proven experience as a Legal Counsel or similar role
- Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Deep knowledge of Indonesian laws, regulations, and industry practices
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
