Role Summary
The Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in the tendering process and execution project, responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing technical proposals, and providing engineering expertise to support the bidding process. This position requires a strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities
• Review tender documents, specifications, and requirements to understand project scope, technical specifications, and client expectations.
• Prepare technical proposals (assisted by sales engineers), bids, and quotations in response to tender invitations, ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with sales, production, development, and other departments to develop comprehensive bid packages and presentations.
• Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to assess project requirements, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop cost estimates, material take-offs, and labor projections to accurately determine project costs and pricing strategies.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to optimize project profitability and competitiveness.
• Provide engineering expertise and technical support to internal stakeholders, including sales teams, project managers, and executives.
• Collaborate with design engineers, drafters, and subject matter experts to develop innovative solutions and design concepts for tender submissions.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Represent the company at pre-bid meetings, project meetings, and site visits
Role Requirements
• Minimum S1 bachelor’s degree (S2/master’s degree will be considered), majoring in Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineer or has an experience in switchboard / sheet metal industry (min 2 years).
• Experience in engineering specially in Mechanical Engineering, project management, or tendering roles, preferably in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles especially in sheet metal.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding computer-aided design (CAD) software, estimation tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

- Self-starter, proven track record in organisation and coordination abilities
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
