Preschool Teacher

Overall Purpose of Position

As a Teacher at Caterpillar School Bali, you will be responsible for cultivating the students’ interest in education and development. Your responsibilities will include teaching and educating according to the prescriptions of the curriculum adopted by the school, evaluating students’ progress, and planning educational activities.

We are looking for a warm, caring and cheerful candidate. You must have experience minimum 3 years teaching age group 2-4 years old, love nature and follow our Finnish Early Childhood Curriculum which is play based.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Plan, prepare and delivers lessons.

• Teach according to the educational needs, abilities and attainment of the individual students and groups of students.

• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans.

• Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment and behaviour of students.

• Provide or contribute to oral and written assignments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students.

• Prepare, maintain and use material/equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist students in their use.

• Provide for the students’ welfare/personal care both individually and in groups, and ensure their safety.

• Be aware of and take part in the schools professional learning framework and participate Support in training and development activities as required.

• Prepare and distribute termly progress reports 

• Communicate, consults and co-operates with other members of the school staff and parents in the interest of students.

• Participate during school time in meetings held in the interest of the students.

• Promote good student behavior, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behavior.

• Contribute to the extracurricular activities of the school and be involved in school development.

• Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.

• Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.

• Conduct Parent-Teacher meetings.

• Prepare and communicate classroom supplies needs.

• Advise and co-operate with the School Manager, Academic Coordinator and other Teachers in the preparations and development of courses of study, teaching material, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral care arrangements.

• Join teacher preparation days according to the school calendar.

• Participates in further personal training and professional development as a teacher, including the attendance to training courses prescribed by the governing body.

• Supervise and guide the teacher assistant.

• Maintain good order and discipline among students and safeguards their health and safety at any time and place.

• Participate in staff, group or other meetings for the better organisation and administration of the school, or related to the school curriculum or pastoral care arrangements.

• Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips and out of school activities as required and take responsibility for a group.

• Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers.

• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the school office.
