Job Responsibility
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team to create, modify, and implement educational plans that address the specific needs and goals of each student with disabilities.
• Adapt Instruction: Modify teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, using various instructional strategies to help them succeed academically and socially.
• Provide Specialized Instruction: Deliver specialized instruction in areas such as reading, mathematics, communication, and social skills, tailoring lessons to the unique requirements of each student.
• Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress through various assessments, observations, and evaluations, and use the data to adjust instruction as necessary.
• Manage Behavioral Challenges: Address and manage challenging behaviors in the classroom, utilizing behavior management techniques and strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Other Professionals:Work closely with other educators, support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to student development and success.
• Maintain Records:Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEPs, and communication with parents and other team members.
• Stay Informed: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in Special Education and apply this knowledge to teaching and supporting students effectively.
• Advocate for Students: Serve as an advocate for students with disabilities, ensuring their rights and needs are met, both within the school system and the broader community.
