About us
Bambu Indah is a tiny luxurious boutique hotel encapsulating old school Bali; peaceful, laidback and in harmony with nature. Tamarind, cinnamon, palm and bayan trees cascade down steep jungle slopes to an enchanting river with natural swimming pools fed by dancing waterfalls. In 2005 they installed eleven antique Javanese bridal homes collected on their travels on a jungle cliff top overlooking padi fields, inviting first their friends to stay and then turning it into a hotel. Since then, they have evolved with ecological mindfulness to expand Bambu Indah down to the river, building a range of spectacular and utterly original buildings all made from their signature material, bamboo. Today travelers come from all over the world, drawn by their dream of a regenerative world where nothing is used which cannot be composted back into the earth. This garden of Eden is their home which they share with you.
Qualifications & experience
- 5 years Proven experience as a Sous Chef at 5 star hotel or 2 years experiences as Chef de Cuisine in 5 star hotel or resort.
- Culinary degree or equivalent training and experience.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Creative flair and a passion for culinary innovation.
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning and development.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Implement and enforce standard recipes and portion controls.
- ensure consistency and quality of dishes and monitor and address guest feedback regarding food quality.
- Provide training to kitchen staff on culinary techniques, menu items, and food safety standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth among the team.
- Assist in managing the culinary budget, including food costs and kitchen expenses.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients.
