Takes end-to-end ownership and responsibility over critical engineering initiatives including deployment, integration and management of public cloud infrastructure and platform services supporting the development of complex analytical applications at enterprise scale. In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing and managing our cloud infrastructure on public cloud. You will also be responsible for ensuring security and compliance, and optimizing performance and cost. You will be a technical leader, responsible for driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence within the larger platform engineering team.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement secure and scalable cloud solutions on public cloud including Azure.
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, storage, networking, messaging and security services.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to ensure continuous integration and delivery of applications.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects and operations specialists.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Skills / Abilities
- 7+ years of experience in cloud computing, preferably with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (vnets, subnets, firewalls, http, dns).
- Experience writing & maintaining Terraform (data structures, modules, providers, advanced concepts).
- Read/Write common markup formats such as json & yaml.
- Experience with Kubernetes administration (troubleshooting, upgrades, scaling & tuning).
- Experience with common scripting and programming languages (Python, bash, PowerShell, Java, Go).
- Ability to help enforce coding best practices, patterns/standards.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and performance tuning applications written in Java/Python/Go.
- Experience supporting high volume messaging, streaming & API based workloads.
- Significant experience with git-based source control.
- Strong understanding of system administration, identity, networking and security concepts.
- Experience with data and analytics solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
- Seven (7) years’ experience in Cloud Engineering or related field.
- Experience providing leadership in a general planning or consulting setting.
- Experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-function project teams.
- A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Domicile / Relocation Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role.
