Our client, a local FMCG which has been recently invested by a global fund is looking to strengthen their presence in Indonesia. As such, they are looking to hire a high calibre Head of Legal and ESG as part of their newly integrated business. This person will report directly to the CEO, and is responsible for both the Legal and ESG operation in Indonesia.

Description

As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal matters within an organisation, and you will be reporting directly to the CEO. Other key responsibilities include:

• Strategic Operation:
  • Developing and implementing the organisation's legal strategy to be aligned with the business focus.
  • Providing strategic legal advice to the executive team members and owners on strategic decisions.
  • Ensuring that all subsidiaries are in compliance with the local standard, laws and regulations.
  • Staying up to date with with changes in relevant laws and regulations that will impact the organisation.
    
• Stakeholders Management/Leadership:
  • Setting up objectives, and ensuring that the team's culture is being built on.
  • Working closely with other departmental leadership and other key stakeholders (Finance / Manufacturing / Operations / HR / Sales / Marketing team).
    
• Expertise:
  • Identifying and managing legal risks, and developing strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
  • Leading the ESG functions by introducing and implementing new initiatives that will be up to international standards.
  • Working in a team to provide legal considerations for other businessess, and acting as strategic advisor for the business.

Profile

This role is only opened for Indonesians who can communicate well in Bahasa and English, and has the track record of working in a manufacturing / FMCG / plantation sector. Other requirements:

• University degree from reputable law school (Master from international university will be highly preferred).
• Industry preference: manufacturing / FMCG / plantation / agribusiness sector, ideally from multi-national firms.
• Strong knowledge of commercial law, and with preference of working in a small and lean team, with track records of setting up legal operation.
• At least 8-10 years of working experience in mult-national brands or reputable local companies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skill in both Bahasa and English.
• Hands-on attitude and one with strong leadership skill.
• Good personal skills, strategic thinking and excellent attention to detail is a must.
• Has experience / network dealing with Kementerian Pertanian and BPOM is highly preferred.
