EOSH Manager

Position Overview

As a key member of the QSE Team reporting to the CPS Indonesia QSE Manager, the EOSH Manager will be responsible for the following:

Sustainability:

  • Drive the site sustainability and environment strategy with the plant leaders and key focus areas to improve sustainability performance, have the right priorities, expertise, and initiatives to achieve CPS sustainability vision as well as ensure compliance to regulatory and TCCC requirements. This will include the implementation of needed processes, programs, metrics, and technologies to deliver performance results.
  • Coordinate and implement the Environmental programs in compliance with the local law and regulations and corporate requirements. Provides advice, guidance and management on all matters relating to environment.

Safety:

  • Safety strategy with the plant leaders and key focus areas to improve safety performance, have the right priorities, expertise, and initiatives to achieve our vision of 'Zero is Possible'. This will include the implementation of needed processes, programs, metrics, and technologies to deliver safety performance results.
  • Coordinate and implement the Occupational Safety Management programs in compliance with the local law and regulations and corporate requirements. Provides advice, guidance and management on all matters relating to Health, Safety & Security, ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

This leader will benchmark internally and externally, leverage best-in-class systems and processes, collaborate across functions, be result oriented, be a self-starter and creative, have constructive curiosity, and will bring innovative solutions to the table, knowing that 'one size does not fit all.' Should be proficient in influencing and driving change through engagement with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Strategies and Initiatives

  • Drive sustainable management of resources aligned with CPS 2030 strategy, including energy, water, and packaging in alignment with our TCCC World Without Waste vision:
  • Develop Water, Energy, Sustainability Vision & Master Plan for the Plant site.
  • Build a roadmap for water management based on project pipeline and associated CAPEX plan for water reduction, replenish project to drive water regeneration and meeting AWS (Alliance for Water Stewardship) principles.
  • Lead strategy to drive decarbonization of our supply chain to reduce energy usage of the site; develop renewable strategy to move to green energy and support efforts in decarbonization of scope 3 emissions related to transport, packaging, and ingredients.
  • Actively contribute, provide subject matter expertise to global Environment Network to develop and implement local and global policies and CPS guidelines related to environment.
  • Provide engineering design and maintenance input and support for all facility process to ensure that they are sustainable by design.
  • Lead environment/sustainability management program to align with company direction, includes general & hazardous waste management, process water & wastewater treatment, energy management & pollution prevention.
  • Continuously improve the site safety and environment management system to satisfy ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standard, Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), KORE Requirements, and local law and regulations:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company, local or international authorities' environment, health and safety programs whichever is stricter to ensure adherence to all laws, regulations, guidelines, and company requirement.
  • Manage and execute health and safety programs to promote zero accident culture as the appointed WSHO (workplace safety health officer)
  • Develop emergency and incident management plans, training and co-ordinate with onsite management and off-site emergency services and exercises.
  • Advise senior management on strategies for Facility Fire Prevention & Protection, to ensure compliance with Corporate & Insurance requirements, and to minimize financial loss of assets due to fires.
  • Lead monthly safety committee meeting (P2K3)
  • Implement and monitor safety initiatives including Safety First and Culture of Care, Life Saving Rules, Serious Injury & Fatality potential (SIFp), Behaviour Based Safety (BBS), Near Miss Reporting Program, Ergonomic Program, IH & Noise Monitoring Program, Property Damages, Contractor Management, and other safety programs.
  • Lead safety risk assessment program and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure risk assessments are conducted and reviewed, and required actions are identified & implemented to mitigate risks.
  • Lead Safety Maturity assessment and propose actions to close any gaps identified during the assessment.
  • Strategize capex investment by proposing the right investments to support metrics achievement and roadmap in both Safety and Sustainability area and being part of LRP submission, manage budget, recommend cost savings and proactively negotiate with vendors.
  • Collaborate and benchmark internally and externally to ensure safety programs, guidelines and tools remain current and reflect the latest thinking, and to share best practices.
  • Build a strong safety culture starting with leadership team, general manager, and frontline leaders.
  • Ensure dynamic CPS OSH communication within our network to standardize processes, drive priorities, show case best practices, share learnings in case of incidents.

Measurement, Analysis and Reporting

  • Ensure development and on-going monitoring of EHS metrics along with key programs and plans to achieve those targets.
  • Report EHS metrics and data as per requirements of CPS Global and The Company reporting system such as Tier dashboard in KOSMOS.
  • Track and monitor of water, energy use, and waste generation, and work with stakeholders to initiate improvement projects to meet company sustainability goal (source vulnerability assessment, carbon net zero vision, solar project etc.)
  • Analysis on EHS metrics and perform corrective & preventive actions if required.
  • Coordinating with experts to perform assessments to support the safety program (i.e. Rack inspections, Ergonomic assessment, etc)

Standards and Compliances

  • Develop, implement and maintain emergency and incident management plan that meet local EHS Acts; Codes and Regulations; KORE; ISO 14001;ISO 45001; and other related international standards.
  • Provide support and direction to other plant functions and coordinate with auditors during on-site compliance audits.
  • Responsible for effective resolution of plant Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health issues, enforce plant safety policy, establish RACI to close off issues.
  • Organize and conduct training programs, campaigns on Health, Safety, Security and Environment to plant associates, contractors and visitors to ensure compliances and awareness and knowledge on EHS

Legal Licenses

  • Manage Plant legal licenses and permits related with EHS to ensure they are up to date.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance to the applicable legal licenses and permits. Work with stakeholders to address non-conformance where needed.
  • Liaise with authorities/expertise/consultant in relevant inspections, investigations, new requirement, license renewal and other related matters.

Training & Awareness

  • Plan and conduct EHS trainings (EHS awareness, fire safety, emergency response etc.) to plant associates, contractors and visitors to ensure understanding of the site requirement for their safety & well-being.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and/or external training provider on other mandatory trainings to ensure compliance to local regulations & company requirement (CERT refresher, HAZMAT, WAH etc.)
  • Initiate sharing & communication of key EHS learnings and reminders to all associates.
  • Organize and conduct campaigns to raise environment, health & safety awareness among associates.

Education requirements & related work experience

  • Bachelor's/master's degree, in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant technical area,
  • 7+ years in Safety experience, with preference in managing teams and workplace safety.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Project management knowledge and experience.

Functional Skills

  • Candidates with either Environmental/Sustainability or Safety experience will be considered (those with experience in both areas will be preferred)
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Systems (ISO-14001, OHSAS-18001 / ISO 45001), GMP, food manufacturing compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Sustainability :
  • PAS2060, Water Stewardship program (AWS standard), regulations, Environmental KORE requirements, Green House Gas protocol, Road map to achieve carbon net zero by 2030, carbon footprint, water stewardship, engineering design, renewable energy technologies, packaging design, waste
  • Safety:
  • ISO 45001, safety and security risk assessment, regulations, OHS KORE requirements, BBS, human and organizational performance (HOP), safety engineering controls, ergonomics, chemical risk, industrial hygiene, work at height, confined space, fire protection, contractor management, fleet safety, machinery safety, security technologies,
  • Qualified Safety Officer is a MUST, LOTO & Machine guarding expertise, Hazardous Substances License Holder, Water and Energy management preferred.
  • Strong Digital literacy in SAP, Microsoft, Power Bi, Power Automate
