Specialist – Distributed Control System (Dcs) – Combined Cycle Power Plant

Some of your duties will include:

• Ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT by overseeing the CONTROL SYSTEM that governs its various processes
• Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the DCS, which is a centralized CONTROL SYSTEM used to monitor and control various processes within the POWER PLANT.
• System Design and Implementation: Designing and implementing the DCS architecture to control and monitor the different components of the COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT; Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure integration of control strategies for turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and other systems.
• Programming and Configuration: Developing and configuring control logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and other programming aspects of the DCS; Writing and implementing control algorithms to optimize plant performance.
• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conducting routine maintenance on the DCS hardware and software components; Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to CONTROL SYSTEM malfunctions or anomalies.
• Upgrades and Expansion: Planning and executing system upgrades to incorporate new technologies and features; Managing the expansion of the DCS to accommodate additional equipment or modifications to the POWER PLANT.
• Cybersecurity: Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect the DCS from potential cyber threats; Staying abreast of cybersecurity best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Integration with Other Systems: Integrating the DCS with other plant systems, such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, safety systems, and plant-wide communication networks.
• Operator Training: Providing training to plant operators on the effective use of the DCS; Developing and updating training materials to keep operators informed about system changes.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of the DCS and optimizing control strategies to improve overall plant efficiency; Collaborating with process engineers to implement control improvements based on performance data.
• Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of DCS configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures; Ensuring that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant personnel.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 10 years’ related experiences.
• Have minimum 5 years’ experiences in Engineer/ Specialist level in similar role in Combined Cycle Power Plant; Previous experience in DCS design, implementation, and maintenance within a COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT or similar industrial setting is preferable;
• Advanced knowledge of DCS hardware and software components; Proficient in programming languages used in DCS systems (e.g., ladder logic, Function Block Diagrams).
• General knowledge of all areas of industrial combine CYCLE POWER PLANT maintenance; 
• Competency and knowledge of the basic plant layout, equipment and systems of a large industrial project; 
• Competency and knowledge of the basic plant layout, equipment and systems of a large industrial project.
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) specifically SAP sufficient to undertake this role.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for industrial CONTROL SYSTEMs.
• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
• Strong computer skills and be competent in all Microsoft Office software programs, as well as project-specific software.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; good in coaching/mentoring; good analytical; conflict resolution.
